About the photo
According to legend, the first Norwegian Vikings founded a parliament on this peninsula in Tórshavn back in the year 825. Ever since then, Tinganes have been a meeting point for the Faroese parliament, which makes Tinganes one of the oldest parliamentary venues in the world. At the very tip of the headland lies Skansapakkhusið, the current parliamentary headquarters.
